Knitting At the Cottage

So….I am starting this new blog to keep track of all the things I make, see and do, as the days go by. I like to sew both quilts and garments. I also like to knit.

Right now I am knitting a scarf with Jo Sharp Rare Comfort Infusion Kid Mohair. It is gorgeously soft. This scarf started life as the Wrap Jacket from the Jo Sharp Knit book 3. I love the jacket pattern, but I wasn’t loving how this variegated yarn knitted up into this jacket. I think the jacket will be best in a solid colour. I knitted 2 balls into the jacket and decided it would the investment would be too high if I wasn’t thrilled, so I pulled it out and started the scarf. Two balls into the scarf and I love it. As it is still summer now, it will be nice to have it done by winter.

I did knit the Wrap Jacket in a soft cotton for summer wear. It is an earthy brown colour with white and blue flecks in it. The jacket turned out a bit looser than I anticipated, but still looks good. I will have to take a picture of it tomorrow.

 I waited until I got my new ‘puter to begin this blog. This notebook has a little slot for my xd card in the front. Somehow, this makes it a LOT easier for me to upload my pictures than finding the cable, finding the camera and hoping that it all works out. Maybe I will even use my camera more now…..maybe. I am not the best picture-taker ever born. It can’t hurt to change that.
