Wowee! While I was away, the elves came to play. My studio is looking good. Here is the magic that happened ….
First of all, a repair had to be made. The plasterboard was bowing inwards in the corner of the room, so hubby cut out the bad part and replaced it.

Here is an elf in [...]

Makeover – Day 3

We have undercoat!

The first layer of undercoat went on today. The black and red are gone. That is the air conditioning duct hanging down from the ceiling. I did not even start on painting until after school today. I was sooo sidetracked. I had reading with Year 1 and 2 kids this morning – I [...]

Makeover – Day 2

There is not a lot of visual difference in the room today. I filled all of the holes left by the picture hooks and various fixtures that were removed. The walls were also washed and sanded. Really exciting…not. But it has to be done.
The fun part was going to the hardware store and buying the [...]

First of all, I would like to say, wow, thank you for all of your lovely comments about my wholecloth quilt. I didn’t expect that. Thanks Randi, for giving me a plug on your (obviously well loved) blog. I have washed this quilt now and need to get a binding onto it tomorrow to mail [...]

I finally got back to the LYS and picked up the rest of the wool. I have knitted about 10cm of the fronts now. I am knitting both fronts at once to be sure that I make them exactly the same as each other. The last cardy I made, I was out by a couple [...]

Progress Report

I finished up the back of the jacket/cardi yesterday. The colour is truer in my last post than this photo. I only have 1/2 a ball of wool left, so I will visit the LYS on Wednesday for the rest. I like knitting at night. It helps me relax.
Teresa, I will report back on the [...]

It only took 5 Years…

…to finish this cardigan. I originally made it for my youngest son when he was almost 2. Now he is almost 7, so it isn’t going to fit him! I kinda finished knitting it ages ago and took a while to sew it all together. Over the last year or so, I did it in dribs [...]

New Toy!

I bought an apple peeler/corer machine the other day. Several friends have them and I have been procrastinating (as usual) about buying one, too. I finally succumbed, and anything that makes the kids eat fruit can’t be a bad thing, right? Besides, this one came in red, my fave colour. The kids loved it, and [...]
